Working With Frank Stella

From 2003, Igal built the 3D CAD models for Frank Stella's "Painting Into Architecture" project, work that culminated in two exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2007. After that, Frank asked Igal to show him everything, every mistake and every idea, opening thirteen more years of developing new work. As a gift in appreciation of that collaboration, Igal gave Frank a piece combining blown glass with wood, and Frank simply called it "The Igal." Stella passed away in 2024.
